Wide Open Privacy

Please join Hogan Lovells, AVG and the Center for Democracy & Technology for a discussion of JR Smith and Siobhan MacDermott's new book Wide Open Privacy: Strategies for the Digital Life.

The book, which advises today's consumers on how to be more proactive in protecting and maintaining control over their digital lives, helps consumers define the life they want to lead online.

In an era where the dividing line between our virtual and offline lives no longer exists, Wide Open Privacy focuses on strategies to control personal data in ways that fully realize the power of privacy in the digital world. It provides an alternative to both government and industry control of online privacy - a third approach that puts control of personal data in the hands of the consumer.

Chris Wolf (Hogan Lovells) and Joe Hall (CDT) will moderate the discussion. Copies of Wide Open Privacy will be provided to all attending, and the authors will sign copies upon request.
