Chairman's Message
The countdown is on! We are only 81 days away from Tampa Bay’s big RACE DAY, MAY 1! Hopefully you have all seen the newspaper ads in the St. Pete Times and the tbt* that we have been running promoting the race and getting your teams together!
Our board has been working feverishly to make this the most fun, exciting, and successful event we have ever had! This year in addition to the great dragon boat racing that will take place we are also adding all kinds of fun for both participants and spectators! Just a few of the changes include making Race Day a Festival of International Food and Beer, coupled with games for kids and adults, some great entertainment, a continued partnership with Asia Fest happening right next door to us, and a Post-Race Awards Ceremony and Paddlers Party that will include medals for winners and other fun awards. Help us to spread the word!
We will have additional announcements to make over the next couple of weeks as we finalize some big partner/sponsorship participation with local, national, and even international companies and media outlets to help support our cause and beneficiaries. We are expanding our Breast Cancer Survivor portion of the race program and will have further news about that as well. If anyone wants to get involved on any of these fronts please contact us. It takes a lot to make this a success and the board, staff, and volunteers work thankless hours to get it all done.
Leading up to this we also have some great events that are outlined below and we encourage everyone to come out and participate!

Mini Regattas
The first Mini Regatta of the year is on February 20th! There are already 5 teams registered for this event, so make sure you get your RSVP in for yourself or an entire team.
Individuals are $5 each or $80 for a full team of 20. New and experienced paddlers are welcome. There is no better way to learn the sport than to jump in a boat and start paddling. Partial teams will be paired up with other partial teams, and individuals will be placed in open seats on a team's boat.
The mini regatta will take place at the Tampa Convention Center (333 N Franklin Street) docks and will begin at 8 am and end by 11 am. Please make sure that your team arrives by 7:45 am to ensure we are able to start on time.

Golf Tournament
We are hosting our first golf tournament at the MacDill Air Force Base South Course. Dust off your clubs and get your swing oiled for Friday, April 16th. Shotgun start at 1pm. There will be contests throughout the course such as a hole-in-one sweepstakes, and the longest drive.
Bring out three players, pay for a foursome and you'll be sponsoring a soldier from the Base to play with your group! more...

Wine Time at Cafe Dufrain
It's time to get Barefoot with the Tampa Attractions Association and the Tampa Bay Dragon Boat Institute!
• Wednesday, February 17th
• 6 - 8 pm
• $15 cover charge for wine, hors d'ouevres and live entertainment
• Cafe Dufrain located at 707 Post Harbour Drive
