"Remember to be gentle with yourself and others. We are all children of chance and none can say why some fields will blossom while others lay brown beneath the harvest sun. Care for those around you. Look past your differences. Their dreams are no less than yours, their choices no more easily made. And give, give in any way you can, of whatever you possess. To give is to love. To withhold is to wither. Care less for your harvest than for how it is shared and your life will have meaning and your heart will have peace."

Hi Reader,
Welcoming the Coming of Autumn
Each year we live out our everyday lives, running errands, visiting friends, even sometimes working, and we get so caught up in all of the little tasks of life that we forget what day it is! Life's busier than ever and we hardly get a chance to soak up what's really going on in our lives. So let's take this opportunity together to really slow things down and breathe in the Fall Season.
For some of us, Fall means the beginning of school and the end of free time, fun, and all those other great parts of life, while for others Fall represents that the holiday season is starting. But Autumn is actually a serious transition period between Summer and Winter in which it is very important to adjust our lifestyle in preparation for the extreme changes to come in the following Winter. Many cultural and traditional teachings such as those found in Chinese medicine and those originating from the Ayurvedic perspective greatly emphasize the importance of transition and adjustment in accordance with the changing seasons in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
This month, we wanted to share with you some of the insight and tradition from these perspectives that will hopefully help you avoid any type of seasonal sickness this Fall. Let's both work toward living a healthier, more natural lifestyle and embrace all that Autumn has to offer us.

The Ayurveda Perspective
Ayurveda is one of the oldest holistic forms of treatment in India. It is specifically related to a central balance between the body and the mind and concentrates on maintaining a healthy transition between each season. According to the beliefs of Ayurveda, it is very important to adjust your lifestyle and diet in accordance with the current season.
During the season of Autumn, it is a good idea to consume bitter, sweet and astringent tastes of food, which enables the body to keep up its immune system. Moreover, easily digestible food such as rice, honey, aamla, and green gram can help to ease the body during the transition into Winter. On the other hand, it is important to avoid heavy food such as curd, oil, and strong liquor, which can aggravate the body during this season.
In a time where medicine has become so advanced that it seems as if we can cure anything with just a couple pills, it is important to remember that the human body was not created to be dependent on modern day pharmaceauticals in order to maintain healthy. With proper care and responsibility, Ayurveda reminds us of the natural resiliency of the human body and frees us from our reliance on what can be considered "social fads." If we take care of ourselves through adopting a proper diet and taking the time to reset and refresh ourselves, we allow ourselves to fully breathe in every moment and our body rewards us with a clean bill of health!
"Hey Mom, what's wrong with those Trees?!"
It's Fall season, which means its time for the leaves to change color, wither away, and die. But is that what Fall is really about? For many, Fall can be a rather depressing time of the year and may offer little or no hope at all for the energized people of Summer.
However, it is important to recognize that life takes the form of a circle, traversing through both the highs and the lows. The four seasons are a pure example of the significance of beauty from death. A plant cannot grow and blossom more beautifully from the same flower just as we cannot improve and learn from the same routine everyday. It is through pain, and through death that we learn to shed away the old and dying parts in order to make room for the new growth. If a plant were to keep all of the same flowers and rely on those flowers for blooming, that plant could never grow past those limiting flowers. Through shedding and rebirth, we clear away the scars and the things that keep us contained in order to make room for new growth and new possibilities.
Autumn is a cleansing period, a reflection period, and a time for new beginnings. It offers us a chance to review the past year of growth and examine and understand the path that we are on and the ways it has directed and changed our lives. Over time, we gradually peel back the layers of our identity and slowly reveal our truest colors, without anything for us to hide behind. This is how the life cycle of the tree works. As they start to die out, they start to reveal their true beauty, and it is here at their peak, in their ultimate form that their time comes to an end. A full life cycle goes from beginning to end, and the tree passes away never too early and never too late.

In Loving Memory of A Very Passionate Doctor
We, at the Green Lifestyle Film Festival honour Dr. Hulda Clark who passed on in her sleep on the 3rd of September this year. Dr. Hulda Regehr Clark was born on October 18th, 1928 in Rosthern , Saskatchewan Canada. She
began her studies in biology at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada,
where she was awarded the Bachelor of Arts in 1950 , Magna Cum Laude.
Dr. Clark was awarded a Master of Arts degree, with High Honors from
the University of Saskatchewan. After two years of study at McGill
University inMonteal, Dr. Clark was awarded her Doctorate degree in
physiology in the USA by the University of Minnesota in 1958. Dr. Clark
studies throughout focused on biophysics and cell physiology.
Dr.
Clark established a nutritional consulting practice in the late 1960’s
as a complement to her university research at the University of
Indiana. In 1974 when Federal research funds were eliminated, she began
private nutritional consulting on a full time basis. She obtained a
naturopathy degree at the Clayton College of Natural Health.
Dr. Clark focused on consulting and independent research in all aspects of human disease, especially cancer. This
research took her down many avenues; from the study of parasites,
bacteria, viruses and fungus to heavy metals, solvents and lately
radioactivity. She wanted to find out how the human body cells react to
these invaders.
She came up with many solutions to rid our bodies
of these invaders. Dr. Clark researched the use of herbs, essential
oils, orthomolecular therapy and frequency therapy. She focused on the
importance of dental health, as well as everyday awareness of
environmental factors.
Her
most important discovery was the zapper. Zapping means electrocuting
pathogens and for years she used a frequency generator to "zap" one
pathogen after another. In 1994 her son built a hand held, battery
operated, accurate frequency generator. The purpose was to kill the
intestinal fluke but she then noticed that the battery-operated zapper
killed all pathogens without having to set in a specific frequency.
This was a great time-saver.
Another
key invention of Dr. Clark is the Syncrometer. It is an audio
oscillator circuit that tunes for and detects the resonance in all
things in much the same way a radio tuner located a specific station.
The Syncrometer can scan for anything in the body – be it an object, an
organ, a chemical or virus because everything has a characteristic
frequency or set of frequencies.
Dr.
Clark undertook all of her research with her Syncrometer and detected
the causes of cancer, HIV and other "mysterious" diseases.
Her
approach was quite simple. With the use of the Syncrometer she would
search for common denominators (e.g. toxins, pathogens) in each case
she undertook that was suffering from the same disease (for ex. cancer)
As
Dr. Clark would become certain of a discovery, she would seek
confirmation of her more critical findings with conventional
independent laboratory analysis.
This was often difficult because
the Syncrometer detects to specificity well beyond the capabilities of
most laboratory analysis.
Dr.
Clark has written 7 books of which 5 concerning cancer. In them Dr.
Clark details her methods, her results, and her conclusions for all to
read. In her later books she describes in detail her newest frequency
technologies such as plate-zapping and homeography. In addition each
cancer book contains a specific holistic cancer fighting program.
Dr.
Clark, with her self-health approach, has touched countless individuals
around the globe who have been able to help themselves with the
knowledge that she has provided. Dr. Clark endured severe attacks by
professional adversaries as well as Government Officials. She
nevertheless carried on sharing her knowledge for the benefit of health
and mankind.
