Titebond 771-Step a Single Step Flooring Adhesive AND Concrete
Slab Moisture Control System
Titebond 771-Step offers flooring contractors the convenience of a single-step adhesive and concrete-slab moisture control system in an advanced polymer formula that is exceptionally powerful, versatile, and easy to use.
 It offers flooring contractors the convenience of applying an adhesive and a concrete moisture control system in a single step. The key word for this product is "AND." Combining moisture control and adhesion into a single product can reduce application time and reduce labor costs.
Titebond 771-Step will cost the contractor about the same as a moisture control product and adhesive. But with only a single step in application, the contractor should still see some real savings. "If you're a flooring contractor, not only will you get the benefit of using one product that serves as two, you're also shrinking the time required for completing a flooring installation job," said Bill Clossin, Marketing Manager for Titebond. "We've seen that some people who have tried this product have converted immediately from what they were using."
Installers will find that its advanced polymer formulation is easy to trowel on and clean up, especially compared to a traditional urethane. Its powerful green grab holds flooring firmly in place once it is seated into the wet adhesive. That powerful green grab quickly builds into a strong elastomeric bond that's effective on a variety of flooring substrates. It also cures very quickly, further reducing installation time and enabling contractors to move on to the next job.
Moisture vapor from concrete slabs is the leading cause of water-related damage in wood floors. Titebond 771-Step can reduce the moisture vapor transmission rate of concrete subfloors by 75 percent to 90 percent and is fully warranted against related moisture damage to wood flooring when used as recommended.
With less than 50 g/L VOC during cure, Titebond 771-Step meets the VOC standards established by LEED, Green Globes, and NAHB's Green Building Standard. Part of Titebond's environmentally safe GREENchoice line, it's available in 3.5-gallon pails.
The versatile product is ideal for use with a variety of solid wood flooring types, bamboo, cork and engineered hardwood flooring – as well as plywood, marble and stone inlays for either residential or commercial applications – in above, on and below-ground installations.
