 | Dear Peterson Parent: Here's this week's message from our Principal. |
Message from The Principal February 1st 2010
Hello. This is Mrs. Crissman with our weekly Peterson updates:
The school year is nearly half over. The majority of our students are doing a wonderful job reading to obtain their Whale Tales goals and Accelerated Reader goals. Keep up the hard work and remember to READ!
The Peterson Book Fair will be on campus February 12-19. In Friday's back packs was a yellow flyer outlining "ONE FOR BOOKS" donation program to help purchase books for our school. If you choose to write a check, please make it payable to Peterson PTA.
Monday is our Character Counts assembly with Reflection Awards presentations. We hope you can join us this Thursday, February 4th, at 9:00 AM in the Clapp Wing for our first PTA meeting of the new year! Refreshments will be served and day care will be provided at the meeting by the YMCA!
Also on Thursday, come to the Fountain Valley Skating Rink for the Peterson Skate Party from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. It's a great way to get exercise, spend time with friends, and help your class earn the Golden Skate!
Box Tops will be collected in the classrooms again this Friday, February 5th. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents. We hope to exceed the $800 we earned for our school when we collected in October. A special prize will be rewarded to classes that collect the most Box Tops. Keep on collecting and be sure to bring in all your Box Tops by February 5th!
This Friday from 2:00-3:30 is our next "After School Cool". Celebrate the start of a new month with a special treat! The Dippin' Dots Cart will be at Peterson in front of the Cafeteria again and will be selling scoops for $3.00 each! IMPORTANT NOTE: NO PETERSON STAFF WILL BE SUPERVISING THIS EVENT! Students will not be allowed to purchase Dippin' Dots or stay on school grounds without a parent or guardian present! Parents must monitor their children while on campus for this event!
Don't forget there will be No School, the following Monday, February 8th in observance of Lincoln's Birthday!
