SFFCUThumbMeet our supporters: Courtney Derby from San Francisco Federal Credit Union answers our questions
San Francisco Federal Credit Union has been an enthusiastic supporter of Hospitality House for years and really demonstrates how socially aware local businesses can create amazing partnerships with non-profit organizations in their community. Learn more from Courtney Derby, Marketing Manager (pictured middle with employees, Bert Lee and Lauriana Estrada serving the annual Thanksgiving meal for our participants.

Hospitality House: Tell us a little about San Francisco Federal Credit Union and the focus of your community outreach and giving.
Courtney Derby:
We are a not-for-profit financial institution serving those that live and work in San Francisco. We offer the same products/services as the banks, but we have a different philosophy. We are committed to the San Francisco community. Through our CommunityShare Program we give through company donations, employee volunteerism and fundraising activities.
HH: What role do your employees play in this outreach?

CD: Giving our time is part of company culture. We encourage staff to volunteer at least twice a year at events for our community partners. Last year we had 95% staff participation in the program.
HH:
Talk to me about the Tenderloin area and what you feel makes it unique. What have you learned about the neighborhood in your work that surprised you? (read the full interview here)
