ICAAP 11 deadlines extended

The International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacfic (ICAAP) have extended the deadlines for Abstract, Scholarship, Proposal and Community Programme submissions by two weeks. The new deadline is now 15 June 2013. You can visit the ICAAP website for more information on other submissions and for general Congress information.

Ngarra now open: Have you submitted your project yet?

ASHM is once again hosting the Ngarra showcase as part of the 2013 Australasian HIV&AIDS and Australasian Sexual Health Conferences in Darwin. Ngarra brings together sexual health initiatives developed around the country for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population groups and we are now looking for people and groups who would like to have their work displayed. If you are interested please fill out an application form on the ASHM website.

 

Australasian Sexual Health Conference – abstract deadline extended to 20 June

From community to clinical, this year’s Sexual Health Conference will reflect the diversity of organisations and responses so critical to the achievement of sexual health. Gram-Negative “Superbugs” Meeting

The Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases will hold this two-day meeting to bring together clinicians, microbiologists, pharmacists, infection control nurses and researchers from Asia, Australia and New Zealand to provide a state of the art update on the issues of Gram-Negative "Superbugs". ‘Reducing Risky Drinking Online’ course

Some people need professional help to address their drinking problem and problems related to drinking. This course has been designed to provide healthcare professionals with an introduction to Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) for addressing risky alcohol use in primary health. Hepatitis Queensland: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy workshop

22 June, South Brisbane QLD
Hepatitis Queensland is seeking expressions of interest for participation in a six-week Cognitive Behavioural Therapy workshop for people living with viral hepatitis.

The workshop provides the opportunity to improve capacity and better manage periods of emotional distress (depression, anxiety, stress) and to develop and implement personal action plans based on core values and current experiences.

Registration of interest closes June 17 for a June 22 start date.

 

Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control National Conference 2013 (ACIPC)

30 Sep - 2 Oct,  Goldcoast QLD

Abstract submission and early bird registration for the 2013 ACIPC Conference are now open. The Conference, from 30 September – 2 October on the Gold Coast, will showcase ‘science to practice’ advances, latest innovations, and provide invaluable networking opportunities. The Victorian Hepatitis B Alliance hepatitis B forum

VBHA is hosting a free hepatitis B forum for the Victorian community and health sector to mark World Hepatitis Day. This forum will explore ways to improve treatment, management and care for people living with chronic hepatitis B.

SEXrurality: Sexual Health and Relationships in our Rural communities Conference

19-20 August, Shepparton VIC

This inaugural conference has been initiated by the Centre for Excellence in Rural Sexual Health (CERSH). CERSH aims to provide strategic leadership and advocacy, and work in partnership with rural communities, networks and agencies to improve sexual health and well-being in rural Victoria.

The conference has four main themes:
1. Sexually Transmitted Infections prevention, testing and treatment in the rural context;
2. Gender and equity as social determinants of sexual health and respectful relationships;
3. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander sexual health and well-being and 4. Sexual health and diversity in the rural context.

21-23 October 2013 Australasian HIV&AIDS Conference

The Australasian HIV&AIDS Conference 2013 (25th Annual Conference of the Australasian Society for HIV Medicine) is the premier HIV Conference in Australia and the Asia and Pacific region. This year the conference will be held back-to-back with the 2013 Australasian Sexual Health Conference.
