What's Your Hurry?
December 7, 2016
 Eric msg 1
       message best little Christmas ever
Technology has really speeded everything up.
So much, in fact,
that if someone’s phone takes more than 30 seconds
to power up, or the credit card reader
makes them wait an extra 10 seconds to go through,
it’s considered a genuine and legitimate annoyance.
We’re no longer willing to wait for anything.
With expectations of instant gratification
at a premium in the modern world,
we have really been set up
for gut-wrenching disappointment at every turn.
When you ride a bullet train
the passing landscape is a disorienting blur.
What’s your hurry?
If you wolf down your food you can’t savor it.
In the military they say
“Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.”
Mistakes can be so expensive.
Jesus, Buddha, and Mohammed
spent weeks in silent meditation
and received the Spiritual Wisdom of the Ages.
As a child of the Infinite,
you are Eternal.
You will have many lifetimes
to ripen as a soul.
Remember: Time is God’s gift to you,
so you don’t have to experience everything
all at once.

Patience and persistence
will always win the prize.
