Do We Need Winter's Chill?
November 28, 2018
  Eric msg 1
       message why have holidays

Actress Meryl Streep had been living in Los Angeles
because that’s where movies were shot,
but after a few years she moved her family
back to the east coast
because she missed the change of seasons.
Twelve months of sunshine can get awfully monotonous.

Bulbs that bloom in the spring
need a few weeks of freezing weather
to stimulate the biochemical processes
that cause them to flower.

Medical research has proven a number of health benefits
caused by cold weather, including allergy reduction,
catching up on sleep, improved circulation,
and help with weight loss,
as the body has to work harder to keep you warm.

Resist the temptation to resent winter’s chill.
Good abounds everywhere,
and in every season of life.
