Keep Being Amazed
September 5, 2018
  Eric msg 1
       message women and immigration
Once it occurs,
it’s surprising how quickly
we take for granted
what we’d long held as “impossible.”
Fly through the air?
Transplant a heart into another body?
Cure leprosy?
Drastically reduce worldwide poverty and illiteracy?

All of these were once considered pipe dreams.
Now we don’t give them a second thought.
This same lack of wonder and amazement
plays out in our individual lives.
Each day is a gift, each breath is a miracle.
Do you have food, shelter, possibilities?
How many times has the Beloved rescued you,
protected you, inspired you, and answered your need?
I’m willing to bet it’s countless times.

It’s good to constantly give thanks for your good.
Melody Beattie said it best:
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance,
chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast,
a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.”
