Pressure Produces Diamonds
August 2, 2017

How are diamonds produced naturally?

1. Bury carbon dioxide 100 miles into the Earth.
2. Heat to about 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit.
3. Squeeze under pressure of 750,000 per square inch
4. Quickly rush towards the surface to cool.

Life is a journey with many pressures and challenges,
but these are the conditions necessary
to produce the diamonds
of good character and spiritual resolve.

Rough rocks tumbled together
create smooth gems.

It is ancient Buddhist wisdom
that the places of greatest pain
in your life are also
the places where you will experience
the greatest joy.

Do not despair when you hit a rough spot.
You have just discovered a spiritual treasure chest.
Dig deep and attain the goal.

Seattle Peace Project June-September 2017
The creator of this project, Troy Reicherter, will be with us Sunday.
Amazing Grace joins a number of other regional faith communities
in encouraging you to participate in this four-month peace experiment.
Modeled on a 1993 peace experiment in Washington, D.C.,
and a number of others since then,
which showed a decrease in local crime when large numbers prayed for peace,
we will meditate or pray for peace daily.
Download apps for Apple or Android
to record your meditation time, to help to measure the impact
