Not Your Ordinary Gratitude List
November 22, 2017
 Eric msg 1
       message thanksgiving 2017
I’m grateful for all my problems
because they give me an opportunity
to claim my miracles.

I’m grateful for conflicts in my world
because they give me opportunities
to be a peacemaker.

I’m grateful for questions I can’t answer
because they cause me to lean on Infinite Mind.

I’m grateful for criticisms I get
because they make me humble
and help me improve my character.

I’m grateful for visits
to help friends who are sick
because they make me appreciate my health.

I’m grateful for women (and men) speaking out
about sexual harassment and abuse
in so many institutions and fields of employment
because Truth heals and change is possible.

I’m grateful that even though its origins
are ambiguous, Thanksgiving is a national holiday
that gives gratitude a welcome pride of place.

I’m grateful for the beaded basket from Kenya
that sits on the window sill in my office reflecting light,
and reminds me that this is still a beautiful world.
