Fight Your Battles with Confidence
June 28, 2017
 Eric msg 1
       message fourth of july

A friend recently lost her partner to cancer,
and she said she now understands why
people so often describe the process as a battle.

Jacob wrestled all night with an angel,
and came out of the fight with a dislocated hip
and a new name:
Jacob means “one who struggles with God.”

For 40 days, Jesus went alone out into the desert
and the Buddha sat under the Bodhi tree
to fight three temptations:
their desires, their fears, and their opinions.

When life calls you to a struggle,
remember that you will always win,
no matter how long it takes,
because Spirit is forever on your side.

Being a spiritual warrior
may not involve using firearms.
Meditation, prayer, spiritual study,
forgiveness, and selfless service
are time-proven weapons
that have brought many a soul
to victory over the dark.
