GDAE Distributes the Social Science Library to Developing Countries
The Social Science Library (SSL) project, part of the UN Decade for Education for Sustainable Development, provides universities and colleges in developing countries access to valuable academic materials at no cost. The SSL is an electronic collection (on CDs and USB drives) containing over 3,400 full-text journal articles, book chapters, reports, and working papers in Anthropology, Economics, History, Philosophy, Social Psychology, Sociology and Political Science. It also includes full bibliographic references, including abstracts, to more than 6,000 additional articles. The SSL has already been distributed to more than two dozen countries, with a goal of reaching over 100 additional countries. More information about the SSL, including an online version, is available from the GDAE website.
