Gesell Institute Announces New Director of Education and Development

New Haven, CT (February 21, 2016) - The Gesell Institute of Child Development is happy to announce Erin Akers, M.Ed in her new role at the Institute as Director of Education and Development.

Erin started her career as a Kindergarten teacher and since has held various educational roles including Early Education Director, and Elementary Principal for eight years. Erin then shifted her career focus to educational consulting by taking on the role as the Director of the National Lecture Staff for the Gesell Institute of Child Development. Now, as the Director of Education and Development, she will focus on professional development content, as well as new product development. She has a passion for developmentally appropriate curriculum and instruction, and will continue to consult with schools and organizations nationwide. Erin also conducts educational training for educators and parents across the country.

“Erin brings years of child development experience to the new role of Director of Education and Development” said Peg Oliveira, Executive Director of Gesell Institute of Child Development.  “She will play a key role in the strategic growth of the organization and success of our new professional development offerings.”
