Light rail Sound Transit Expansion Plans Go Before Voters In November
ST-3 Plans to Reach Aerospace Job Center in Everett

Sound Transit’s plans to expand light rail in the Puget Sound region will connect the aerospace job center at Southwest Everett and Paine Field. The plan, known as “ST-3”, will extend light rail North from Lynnwood, and will include three stations near the job center: Airport Road & SR-99, Airport Road & SR-526, and SR-526 & SR-99/Casino Road area. The light rail line will then proceed north along I-5 to the Everett Transit Station.

The Southwest Everett/Paine Field Manufacturing and Industrial Center (MIC) is the largest manufacturing center in Washington State, with the highest concentration of aerospace jobs in the nation. Connecting light rail to the Southwest Everett MIC will provide incentives for other investments, including overseas investments, where companies are accustomed to transportation and transit options that provide alternatives to automobiles and freeways.
