BulletinMain2 SF Small Business Owners
AUGUST 2016

Dear Reader,

In 2016 both President Obama and Mayor Lee held summits to focus on the contributions of women leaders.  I want to take a moment to honor and acknowledge an important San Francisco woman business leader, Patricia Christensen, who passed away July 13, 2016.  Pat served as Executive Director and Executive Secretary for the Small Business Network and SF Council of District Merchants Associations and was a founding member of the Small Business Advocates.  She was very active in the politics that surround small business causes.  For 15 years, Pat published the Small Business Journal through the San Francisco Independent newspaper.  She has covered regulations, trends, profiles of successful businesses, and proposed legislation.  Thank you, Pat, for your dedication and services to the small business community.  You will be greatly missed.  To read the full obituary, click here

At the start and end of every commission meeting, we remind people that the Office of Small Business is the place to be when starting your business in San Francisco.  Get your questions answered and resources provided.  Our services are free, offered in multiple languages, and customized to your business needs.  So start first at the Office of Small Business.  When you are not able to engage with the Office of Small Business one-on-one, the award winning San Francisco Business Portal is there to assist you.

Sincerely,

Regina Dick-Endrizzi,
Director, Office of Small Business
