Evolutionary Relationships

An evolutionary relationship is rooted in an evolutionary spirituality, which asserts that we are living in an extraordinary time in history when there is a possibility for a shift in consciousness that will re-define our purpose and the way we relate to the universe.
Most spiritualities up to now have been focused on “me” --on what I need and want to be happy or successful. Individual spiritual growth is usually seen as denying the world and moving into some spiritual state where we are purified, accepted, forgiven and given a status --where we separate ourselves from the world to “awaken” or “become holy”. We have believed that a spiritual power (God) organizes life to meet our needs. An evolutionary relationship moves from a “me” perspective to a “we” perspective. We are asked to embrace the world because it is a part of us, a part of the unity of all of life. more

This four-week, structured group provides an opportunity to honour the memories related to passages in your life including career changes, financial crises, loss of health or ability and/or loss of a loved one. Using art experiences to initiate a healing process, the group dynamic offers insight, companionship and authentic response to the unspeakable pain of the grieving process.

The day will include a meditative beginning, a reflection on the Emmaus Walk and your own ministry/faith walk, conversation with a stranger to identify the issues and challenges in your life and ministry, time for remembering God’s presence in our midst, lunch, a message of hope, time for listening to and encouraging each other and a summary of the gifts of the day.
