Attention All Breeders & Appaloosa Stallion Owners - Announcing for 2015:
Appaloosa Select Sires
Vision Statement:

Appaloosa Select Sires’ intention is to create an enhanced marketplace for Appaloosa registered stallion by the creation of premier events that showcase the offspring of these Appaloosa stallions throughout the country.    Our mission is to enhance the breeding marketplace for Appaloosa stallions and to promote the future of the Appaloosa industry.

Western Sires Program:

Event:   Three (3) limited horse/limited rider Three Year Old Western Pleasure Stake classes

Location: There will be three (3) events per year for three (3) years.  The Appaloosa Select Sires Stake classes will be held in conjunction with regional shows throughout the country which shall be determined and announced on or before January 1st of each year.

Eligible Horses:  All ApHC registered offspring of a nominated Select Sire that meet the definition of “limited” are eligible to participate.  For a horse to qualify as “limited;” (i) the horse may not have earned a top-3 placing in any western pleasure class at the ApHC National Show or ApHC World show; and (ii) the horse may not have earned more than $2,500.00 in NSBA or other winnings or have accumulated more than 15 points in any western pleasure class prior to January 1st of the immediately preceding year.

Eligible Exhibitors: Each exhibitor must meet the following criteria: (i) must meet the NSBA limited open criteria, which provides that a rider cannot have lifetime earnings exceeding $15,000; (ii) cannot have finished 1st or 2nd in any western pleasure class at the ApHC National Show or ApHC World Show within the prior two (2) years; (iii) cannot have been in the top 3 in any western pleasure class at the AQHA World Show, APHA World Show, or the All American Quarter Horse Congress in the past 3 years; and (iv) must hold a current ApHC membership in good standing.

Stallion Nominations: A stallion may be nominated for a commitment of $3,000.00, payable $1,000.00 per year.  Stallions will be accepted in later years, but the nomination fee will remain at $3,000.00 payable over the remainder of the initial three year period.  100% of the nomination fees each year will be divided by the three events for that year and distributed to the winners of the western pleasure stakes events as follows: 1st place – 50%, 2nd place 25%, 3rd place 15%, 4th place 10%.  Funds will be paid at the show.

Entries:  Entries will be due at the event, and the entry fee will be $150.00 per horse.  50% of the entry fees (or less) will be used for administrative expenses and the balance added to the payback at that event.
