First Day of School Reminders

The first day of school is Tuesday, September 5! The school will be open to students for breakfast at 7:45 a.m. in the cafeteria. School starts at 8:15 a.m. The first day is a full day so please remember to pack a lunch if your child will not be eating the school lunch.

Specials classes will be starting on the first day. We advise that students wear comfortable clothing and gym shoes so they can easily participate in the activities should they have gym. Teachers will send home classroom specials schedules in their opening communication documents to parents.

For those of you who have not yet turned in your child's school forms for the 2017-2018 school year, you may access the forms here. Please complete all forms and turn them in on the first day of school. Additionally, school fees can be paid online here or by dropping off a check payable to Bell School to the main office.

Enjoy this last long weekend of summer. We look forward to seeing the halls of Bell filled with students on Tuesday!

New School Counselor

counselorMy name Is Katie Moran and I am the school counselor at Bell Elementary. Before coming to Bell, I earned a degree in English at Illinois State University. In 2012, I earned my Masters Degree in School Counseling from DePaul University. I started my career in education at Prospect High School in Mt. Prospect, IL as a long-term substitute counselor. I then accepted a position at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL, where I have been a school counselor for the past four years. As a Chicago native, I am excited to work in a community I call home.

Outside of school, I try and find new and interesting things in the neighborhood to experience. I also take advantage of the Lakefront Trail whenever I can. It's more of a necessity since I will be competing in my fourth Ironman in Chattanooga, Tennessee this fall.

I am thrilled to be a resource for students, parents and staff at Bell Elementary. Please feel free to contact me anytime. I am grateful for the opportunity and look forward to getting to know the Bell community.
