Traffic Ambassadors for Week of Nov 20

School crossing 2This week, we are requesting volunteers from Rooms 201 and 319 to help with traffic safety at the corner of Oakley and Waveland. If you are able to volunteer any morning this week, please report to the security desk at 7:45 a.m. for a safety vest and minor instructions.

Parents, thank you for your help in keeping our kids safe!

See the full schedule here for the rest of the school year.

Kiss N' Go Drop Off

Now that the weather is getting colder and more people are driving to school, please remember to follow the rules in our Kiss N' Go area at drop off each morning. It is very busy at Bell between 8:00 and 8:15 a.m., and we do not want our students' safety to be jeopardized due to hurried schedules in the morning.

  • Please pull your vehicle all the way forward
  • NO double parking at any time
  • Do not block any crosswalks
  • Do not turn off your engine in the Kiss N' Go lane. This slows down traffic flow.
  • Do not talk on your cell phone in the Kiss N' Go lane. We need your full attention while dropping off and exiting the lane.
  • Please have you children exit the car on the sidewalk side. Do not let them exit onto the street.
  • Have backpacks ready to exit the vehicle versus storing them in your trunk. Do not exit your vehicle to unload backpack
Thank you for your cooperation!

Class of 2018 Legacy Project

Last year, we made United Nations Goal Pledges, this year the 8th graders ask Bell to be UN Changemakers. They wrote every Bell Community pledge written in 2017 and will post the list to the Bell website soon. Please look over the list to find a pledge you can act on inspired by our students' hopes for a better world.

LSC November Summary

The Bell Local School Council (LSC) held its regular monthly meeting on November 9 at 7 pm in the Bell School library. Following Ms Miller’s recommendation, and with the main budget cycle concluded, the LSC voted to allocate $38,000 from a general fund: $10,000 for supplies; $10,000 for teacher professional development; $10,000 to offset a Friends of Bell (FOB) allocation in this amount; and, $8,000 to a miscellaneous budget line.

Ms. Miller recognized, and the members of LSC agreed, that the school needs additional funding for supplies, mainly in the form of copy paper. Ms Miller explained in very clear terms that teachers throughout the system, including at Bell, have not had sufficient professional development opportunities in the last several years. Read more here...

Graduation Video Help Needed for ALL Class Years

The 8th grade video is one of the favorite traditions for staff, students and families alike at Bell. Historically our staff has helped lead this, however our teachers no longer have the bandwidth to do so. If this tradition is to continue we need parent help.

Charlotte Goldberg and Ms. Miller are leading a new graduation video committee, and have created a system that will back everything up to the cloud and make parents able to work on this project remotely. They are in need of class leads for 8th, 6th, 4th & 1st grade classes specifically but welcome help from every grade.

If you are interested in joining this new committee, please contact Charlotte Goldberg at
