BE GOOD: one good idea...
'They are called the 'Vanguard' companies, the 'SuperCorps', the ones that create innovation, profits, growth, and social good.
The BeGood video in this inaugural newsletter features TOMS Shoes and their business model that merges citizenship and business strategies. For every pair of shoes
purchased, a pair is donated to a child in a developing country.
Blake Mykoskie, founder of TOMS Shoes, applied a business solution to a social problem...this
is social entrepreneurship. This is the future of business: doing well
by doing good.
Tomorrow, Thursday, April 8th, join the ONE DAY WITHOUT SHOES campaign and go barefoot.
Why? As a reminder that a good portion
of the world's population doesn't have shoes--making them vulnerable to infection ad disease.
GO LOCAL: okay a few ways to 'go local'...
There are children and families in Milwaukee who also need shoes. So use this as an opportunity to do good here.
- Join the campaign 'One Day Without Shoes' and go barefoot. Upload a photo of you and your colleagues to Facebook.
- Ask your co-workers to donate shoes. Drop off any shoes you collect at your nearest Salvation Army drop box.
