NEW POWDERPuffs ink pads Review.
REVIEW by Krital of Digi Kitty:
I tried the new Powder Puffs inkpads by Quick Quotes, after seeing them on Scrapbook Expo's website. I wanted to see how they compared to Chalkbox Inks on my paper-piecings and paper edges.
The Powderpuffs are very inexpensive at 2.49 retail and they are a rectangular pad with a curved end. The pads measure about 2"each long. So they are big enough to cover any area and not dry out easily. However, they are easier to store than a traditional inkpad.
I have been using Chalbox Ink pads for three years, and have enjoyed their cat-eye inks. However, after trying the Powderpuffs, I am completey won over. They go on super easy--almost as if they glide on, yet they look like actual chalked edges--but richer. I am THRILLED with the results and I didn't have to really pull my inkpad to cover the edges. It fit easily along the paper piecings' twists and curves.
Overall, ease of use was a 1 out of 5 being extremely EASY to use. Quality was a 5 of 5, as it was superb and the effect was beautiful.

Oh my gosh! I am so THRILLED! I had no idea the winner received so many amazing files! I feel like it's Christmas morning. These files are fantastic. Strawberry Coffee Cake
55 min | 20 min prep
SERVES 8
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 1/2-2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
Topping
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup cold butter
1/4 cup chopped pecans
Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
In a second bowl, add the egg, milk and butter; stir to mix; add to dry ingredients and stir just until moistened.
Pour mixture into a greased 8-inch square baking dish.
Place strawberries evenly over the top of batter.
To make the topping: Combine the flour and sugar in a bowl.
With a pastry blender, cut in the butter until consistency of coarse crumbs.
Stir in pecans.
Sprinkle mixture evenly over the strawberries.
Bake at 375° for 30-35 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean. |
