Downtown Merchants Association - April 2010 Newslettter
Please join us on Friday, April 23 at 8am at Bistro-To-Go for our monthly General Membership Meeting. Bistro-To-Go is located at 613 Broadway Street. This will be our new location for our monthly General Membership Meetings. We thank Raapers Sports Bar & Grill for accommodating us over the past year! Emajean Zwieg who is the Special Programs Coordinator for the Housing & Redevelopment Authority of Douglas County will be our guest speaker.

Flower Basket Project - The flowers will be delivered at 4pm on May 19. We will need some volunteers to help distribute the flower baskets on the morning of May 20th.
We will be promoting an event called "Shop Hop" during Memorial Day Weekend (May 24-31) where Downtown Shops will host sidewalk & in-store specials & refreshments. Each DMA member has the opportunity to be a part of this event which will include radio and newspaper advertising.
Decorative Clock Update - Mike Schreiner is still busy investigating the possibility of placing a clock or benches or bike racks,etc somewhere downtown. We have been offered some funding from the Kiwanis for a special project like this and we hope to put the funds to good use. Mike is in communication with the City on this project to help improve Downtown Alexandria!
Newly Designed brochures for the DMA are being ordered and will be available soon.
