This 1st Friday MTS Gallery Presents: A screening of Sandra Kleven's short film “To the Moon!” 

 

 

A tribute to the poet Theodore Roethke, who died in the summer of 1963. This short (10 Minute) film set in Seattle’s University District, imagines Roethke returned, once again young, roaming the streets of the district, making his way to his old haunt the Blue Moon Tavern.  An original score and voice-over recitation of well-known poems give substance to this dreamy piece. According to Blue Moon owner Gus Hellthaler, it is a “work of art about a work of art.”
