1. Review current data regarding the link to ED flow and the quality of patient care
2. Evaluate current guidelines for acute conditions seen in the ED
3. Assess current quality measures and mandatory reporting
4. Identify processes and point-of-care strategies to improve operational flow
5. Apply findings to one’s own institution to improve patient outcome
