The New Leo Baeck South Campus

South Campus families enjoyed our annual Baeck to School BBQ with food and fun for everyone. Several Ambassadors of The New Leo Baeck South Campus were on hand (donning yellow hard-hats!) to answer questions and spread the excitement. Many students had their photos taken against the backdrop of our fabulous New building.

To learn more about our New Campus and keep up-to-date on its exciting development:

Visit The New Leo Baeck South Campus page on our school website www.leobaeck.ca.  There you will see photos of our campus’ transformation and answers to frequently asked questions (see “You May Be Wondering...”).

Parents will also have an opportunity to tour our New campus in mid November prior to the commencement of construction.  Information on tour dates and times will be coming soon.  Stay tuned…

You are also welcome to contact our South Campus Transformation Committee Co-chairs, Ronna Rubin and Nolan Grubert at thenewsouthcampus@leobaeck.ca.

New Faces at South Campus
LAxmith 2
Lawrence Axmith is pleased to join the LBDS South Campus. A recent graduate of York University's Faculty of Education, he has dedicated his career to educating children through the Performing Arts as the Artistic Director of New York Youth Theater in Manhattan and at the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts in Toronto. A graduate of USDS, he is happy to be back at day school!

Tara Carey is the Assistant to the Principal at the South Campus. She has rejoined the workforce after being a stay-at-home Mom for 5 years. She has 3 beautiful daughters aged 4 1/2, 3 and 1 1/2. Before being a Mom, she worked in Social Services with at risk and homeless youth. She brings a dynamic drive and love for kids to the front office. She looks forward to meeting all of you over the year and helping out in anyway she can.

Sterling
Lauren Sterling, a graduate, is delighted to be back at The Leo Baeck Day School. After several years of teaching at other Jewish day schools she is thrilled to be back and working with Student Services.

Mr. Teitel may be new to Leo Baeck as a teacher, but is familiar with the way of life here as he grew up within the halls and walls of the North Campus. After starting his career in education working abroad in both South Korea and Israel, it's quite an exciting change to be back in Canada. He is eager to meet the LB community and is looking forward to making this year a healthy, happy, and productive one!
