Clean Fuels Tip of the Month:
box_top.gif

As temperatures warm up-keep it cool!

Running your air conditioner does cause your vehicle to consume more fuel, but driving with your windows rolled down can be even worse due to the increase of drag on the vehicle. If you are driving slowly, such as around town or in city traffic, it's more fuel efficient to roll your windows down than use AC. For highway driving, roll up the windows and turn the air conditioning on for better fuel economy.

Compelling Case for NGVs a Success

More than 175 fleet operators, policy makers, clean-air/clean transportation advocates and NGV industry stakeholders
participated in a very well received “Compelling Case for NGVs in Public and Private Fleets” workshop in Canton, Ohio, on March 18. The workshop included a half-day base curriculum presented by Stephe Yborra of NGV America, followed by a series of technology and application break-out sessions in the afternoon.

Success at the Statehouse

Clean Fuels Ohio was successful in expanding thOhio_Statehouse_columbusWEBe definition of alternative fuels for the Alternative Fuel Transportation Grant (AFTG) Program in the Transportation Budget. We are now turning our focus to the operating budget. The proposed budget didn’t fund the AFTG Program or the Diesel Emissions Reduction Grant (DERG) Program. Besides funding for these programs, Clean Fuels Ohio is also working with the legislature on the creation of a tax credit for manufacturers’ in the alternative fuel sector. On Wednesday our Policy Director, Katherine Stewart, testified before the House Finance and Appropriations Agriculture and Natural Resources Sub-Committee to ask for support of these programs. She’s been down at the Statehouse working with SZD Whiteboard to ensure we get the needed funding for fueling infrastructure and diesel emission reduction dollars.

If you would like to get more information, or updates on our policy proposals please contact Katherine Stewart. We encourage you to contact your State Representative and voice your support for these initiatives.

28451_mini_e_plug_in1-4b77aad131dd2-625x360We’re excited to announce the availability of grant funds for plug-in electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Ohio. To be considered for funding, please submit a Letter of Interest to CFO. Governmental entities, nonprofit organizations, and businesses are eligible for this grant funding. Grants will not be made to individuals.
