Dear Friends,

I will be speaking in Marin County on February 25th in support of Stacey Lawson's run for Congress in California's 2nd Congressional District. I will be talking about issues of politics and consciousness, hopefully bringing energy, funds and awareness to her campaign.

I'm making the trip because I think Stacey is wonderful. Not only does she bring extensive experience as an educator, entrepreneur and innovator to the campaign, but she is also a deeply sensitive woman with a strong sense of our need to transform the American political system. She brings higher values of consciousness and heart into the political sphere – something I will support anywhere and in any way I can.

She is the co-founder of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at UC Berkeley, helping hundreds of students learn how to start and grown their own businesses. Eighteen companies have spun out of Stacey's work at Berkeley, and she continues her mentorship role still. With social change as a central focus of her work, she has also created programs in Southeast Asia and India that have enabled hundreds of families to pull themselves out of poverty into safe housing and quality jobs. And her resume of excellence goes on and on. Her combination of qualities and skill are particularly well suited to the leadership role she feels moved to pursue – and like many others, I want to help her get there.
