REBECCA RISINGWispolitics.com has listed Rebecca Kleefisch as "RISING" on its Weekly Political Stock Report. The subscriber - only page details: "Rebecca Kleefisch: Some insiders were ready to write off the former Milwaukee TV newswoman after her poor showing during the GOP convention's endorsement vote for lt. guv. But she picks herself off the mat and outraises her Republican rivals, catching insiders off guard. Kleefisch reported $141,635 raised during the first six months of the year, besting state Rep. Brett Davis and his $111,169. Davis, considered by some the insider favorite to win the GOP nomination, continues to hold a commanding cash-on-hand advantage with $158,950 in the bank, twice as much as Kleefisch. But he's also getting more hits from conservative radio hosts in Milwaukee, who have been pounding on him over everything from his vote for Dem Gov. Jim Doyle's budget in 2007 to this week's Supreme Court ruling nixing the $200 million Patients Compensation Fund transfer that was included in the document. Some continue to see Davis as the favorite, but believe Kleefisch has now proven she's not going away, particularly with the likes of Charlie Sykes and Mark Belling in her corner." |
