Star Searcher's Express
Message from Founder, Cynthia Brian
This time of year we are reminded to be grateful for the many blessings in our lives. We’re thankful for the nutritious food on our tables, roofs over our heads, and family and friends who cherish us. Although Thanksgiving needs to be celebrated every day, we often take for granted the good fortune we already possess. Since our last newsletter, the super storm Hurricane Sandy devastated many parts of the East Coast. One of our own teen volunteers, a reporter on Express Yourself!™ Teen Radio was affected. Katelyn Darrow founded a charity to help the needy when she was only thirteen and Be the Star You Are!® partnered with her Angels of God Clothing Closet to get resources to families who suffered with our Operation Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief program. Katelyn was recognized with a special award for her work. We send her our kudos and hope you’ll assist our efforts.
On Thanksgiving our teen radio show celebrates it’s ONE Year Anniversary of weekly broadcasting! Wow! Lots of hours of work, dedication, and love have gone into writing, producing, recording, and promoting this top rated teen show. Congratulations are due to our stellar on-air team. See photos from our Thanksgiving/Anniversary Special and listen to the broadcast at Voice America Kids as well as read about our year in the rearview mirror. We have several new ways for you to donate before the end of year. One way costs you absolutely nothing except three minutes of your time with DonateDirect. Others are ways to shop online, save money, and be giving a percentage to charity without spending an extra nickel. Please make sure to choose Be the Star You Are!® Sharpen your writer's pen and enter to win $$$ in the 9th Annual National BTSYA Essay Contest. And to brighten all of your moods, make sure to check out the Yahoo Ultimate Surprises video, Episode 7, where our own Board Member and radio co-host, Heather Brittany receives the best gift ever! From all of us to all of you, we wish you a happy, healthy, and hearty Thanksgiving graced with love, laughter, and learning. Give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way! Festive Holidays, Cynthia Brian PLEASE DONATE!
