G21 – Geelong Region Alliance is a product of our community’s initiative and innovation.

The idea of G21 evolved in late 2001 when the City of Greater Geelong saw the need to take a fresh approach to fostering the economy, improving social cohesion and protecting the environment.

In 2002 the mayors and chief executives of Greater Geelong and neighbouring municipalities (Golden Plains, Surf Coast and Colac Otway shires and the Borough of Queenscliffe), the state government, and business and community leaders held a forum which was the start of the G21 alliance.

Research supports a Comcare move to Geelong

Research points to significant economic benefits to be gained from Australian Government insurance agency Comcare relocating to Geelong.

A joint delgation from Geelong delivered the research as an economic benefits report in meetings with politicians and their advisors in Canberra last month.

Tickets to G21's 2018 Stakeholder Forum on Friday 17 August at the RACV Torquay Resort have recently gone on sale.

ABC TV's Dr Julia Baird and State political leaders Premier Daniel Andrews, Opposition Leader Matthew Guy and Greens Leader Samantha Ratnam will be among the speakers at the forum.
