Boggs Center Now Accepting
Partners in Policymaking Applications
for Fall 2016
Last fall, the NJ Council on Developmental Disabilities (NJCDD) put our leadership development and advocacy education program, Partners in Policymaking, on hold in an effort to redesign and update the curriculum for new advocates. Now, the Council has partnered with the Elizabeth Boggs Center to reintroduce this program for New Jersey!
The Boggs Center has received a grant from the NJCDD to carry out this year’s advocacy program, and is now accepting applications from adults with developmental disabilities and family members interested in participating. Visit the New Jersey Partners in Policymaking page on The Boggs Center's website to learn more about the program and how to apply.
Applications must be received by September 9, 2016, and applicants will be notified of acceptance by September 30.
The Boggs Center’s Partners in Policymaking program will be held over an eight-month period and will present perspectives from nationally known instructors, relating to important areas in disability advocacy for both individuals with disabilities and family members. Educational sessions will be held one weekend per month, beginning in November of this year and ending next June.
The goal of the 2016/17 program will be to reach a diverse population of individuals and family members from all across the state, and to prepare a new crop of disability advocates to work toward meaningful change in our state.
The NJCDD is thrilled to begin this partnership with the Elizabeth Boggs Center, and we hope you’ll help spread the word about this new opportunity for disability advocates.
