Community and Labor Groups Urge a No Vote on Mayor’s Trust Ordinance

The Great Chicago Sell-Off Leaves Taxpayers on the Hook

WHAT:  Community and labor leaders call for Aldermen to vote against the Infrastructure Trust Ordinance, and issue pass/fail report cards to Aldermen.


WHY:  Mayor Emanuel’s Infrastructure Trust Ordinance fails to put the needs of low and middle income Chicagoans first, especially communities of color.  Its vagueness around conflict of interest, transparency, and accountability poses real concerns for Chicago working families. 


WHEN & WHERE:  Monday, April 16th at 9:30am at City Hall, 121 N. LaSalle, 2nd Floor


WHO: Amisha Patel, Director of Grassroots Collaborative; Community Leaders with the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, Action Now, Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation, Brighton Park Neighborhood Council, Enlace Chicago, SOUL and Illinois Hunger Coalition together with union members from SEIU Healthcare, SEIU 73, and the Chicago Teachers Union.
