This Week In Religious Education

Our Elementary Service Project

bake sale
As we are in the final few weeks of this church year, most of the religious education classes and groups are wrapping their programs up with some fun activities. The elementary grades class, Labyrinth Learning, is finishing the with a service project that they selected themselves: to help shelter animals.

This Sunday there will be a bake sale and supply drive in the Commons during both coffee services. Please come support the kids in raising funds and supplies for the animal shelter. (For a complete list of shelter needs:http://jointanimalservices.org/shelter-needs/)

Our Helping Hands

Extend the Conversation at Home:

Why are animals important? How should animals be treated?

What is the difference between humans and animals? Some religions have taught that humans are "above" animals ... do you think that is true?

Family Faith in Action Adventure:

The projects we did in class to make dog and cat toys are fun and easy! You could make them at home, either for your own pets or to donate:

Do you build, create, invent, or make? Do you sew, knit, do woodwork, electronics, fix radios, screenprint, or …? This summer, we want a guest each Sunday at 11:00 to demonstrate a different making technique, and to help supervise the Maker Studio as the kids work on their own making.

Don’t want to demonstrate a skill, but still want to help out? MakerSpace supervisors are also needed each Sunday!
