This Week In Religious Education

February's Theme is Creativity

IMG_5776Guiding questions for this month are:

·       When and how are you creative? How is creativity part of your spiritual journey or practice?

  • How do you experience "the creative"? Is it a spark outside of you, a muse inspiring you, or a connection with your inner wholeness? Or none of those - how would you describe it?

See our Soul Matters email for more about the theme of the month.

Sunday and Everyday: Taking it Home

Ish

ish book 2Last Sunday was our multigenerational worship service for Valentine's Day and the theme of Creativity, and I planned it around the book Ish by Peter H. Reynolds.

Extending the Conversation at Home:

1. What do you wish to create? What inner spark of creativity lives inside you?
2. How can you live "ishfully?" How can you accept yourself and your creations, just as they are now?
3. What other ways can you embrace "Ish"? Can you be "happyish", "niceish", "organizedish"? How would that change your life?

A Faith in Action Adventure for this Week:

Embrace your creativity. Try something new! There are so many good resources out there for sparking your creativity, but here is just one more: 150+ Screen-Free Activities for Kids by Asia Citro.

Hospitality Teams are for All Ages

volunteersDon't miss your opportunity to sign up for a Hospitality Team.  The Team dates and sign-up information is at the back of the Commons and will remain available through February.  We need both team members and team leads.  Joining a team is a great way to get to know more people at OUUC.  We welcome families, newcomers and old-timers! Please talk to us about what you can do.

Yours along the Journey,
