2011 Benefit Art Auction: Artist of the Year ccas_banner_horz

2011 Artist of the Year: William Ishmael

The Teichert Corporation was an early supporter and purchased one for their Stonebridge Development lobby.  Paulette Trainor, Betty Moulds and Estelle Saltzman each own 3 of his works; Mark Bowles begs to own one.  David Gibson is a huge collector.  He won the Founders Choice Award for the 2011 Black and White exhibit for the Infinity Art Gallery.  This year he has had pieces accepted into juried shows in Long Beach, Santa Cruz, and the Crocker Art Museum art auction.  He has sold 4 to a home in Saudi Arabia.  The Sacramento Arts and Business Council recently named him the 2011 Artist of the Year.  He is William Ishmael. When we asked him to donate a piece to the auction being held November 19th, he said:

"Jeez.  Donate, donate, donate.... why don't you people have a bake sale like a respectable non-profit?

Fortunately for us, Cheryl Holben threatened him with the ever reliable bamboo stakes under the fingernails and he said, "Yes."

What does this mean for you?  You have the opportunity to own an original piece from an internationally celebrated artist.  And, provided an ice cold gin martini is waiting, he will personally come over with a chain saw and jack hammer and hang his work in your home.  Raise your paddle. Raise your glass. Raise the bar on your private collection.
