Holistic Health and

The Basics of Natural Therapy

June 17, 2017

9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Immanuel Church, Highlands

Holistic health is a major key to greater energy and vitality. It encompasses natural therapy, a gradual and gentle process. Our workshop offers a foundation on how to honor, serve, and maintain the whole person - mind, body, and spirit. Our instructor, Dada Jyotiriishanandaa Dada, is a senior yoga teacher with thirty years of experience. Over the past twenty years, he has been traveling the world, researching and teaching Holistic Health and Naturopathy. The cost is $60.00. For more information, please contact Bob Penneys.

SUMMER CHOIR

The parish choir is taking a break for the summer, but we have an impromptu choir with a "One Song, One Sunday" commitment - all parishioners are invited. We rehearse before the service to learn a simple hymn or anthem to present in worship that day. If you enjoy singing and would like to do this in the summer, speak to Steven Patchel or just show up one Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m.

PRAYER REQUEST FOR ELECTING THE ELEVENTH BISHOP OF DELAWARE

Dear Immanuel Family,

Please pray each day for our process here in the Diocese of Delaware as we discern who God is calling to be our next bishop. Pray to for our five candidates: Laura, Michael, Kevin, Patty, and Scott. And finally, pray for the clergy and lay delegates of our diocese, remembering especially Fr. Kim, Deacon Sheila, Cam Hay, and Phyllis Harvey, who will gather on July 15th to elect our next bishop.

WALK-ABOUTS: SAVE THE DATES

Exciting times are ahead for the Diocese of Delaware moves towards the election of our new Bishop! As we move closer to the election of a new Bishop, there will be three "walk-abouts" in our diocese. The dates/locations are listed below. Starting times will be announced later but all will take place in the evening.

 • Wednesday, June 28, 2017 - at Christ Church in Greenville

 • Thursday, June 29, 2017 - at St. Peter 's in Lewes

 • Friday, June 30, 2017 - at Christ Church in Dover

What is the purpose of the Walk-About?

The Walk-About provides a way to introduce the candidates for Bishop to the people of the diocese. This is also an opportunity for the candidates to see a sample of the churches and ministries that are representative of the diocese. The Walk-About is a part of the discernment process in which people of the diocese are asked to listen and prayerfully consider who it is that God is calling to be our next Bishop. This is not intended to be a time to discuss issues but rather a part of the discernment process for both those attending and the candidates.

Who should attend the Walk-About?

All those who will be voting during the election of the new Bishop should plan on attending one of the Walk-About sessions. Other parishioners and non-voting clergy are certainly invited and encouraged to attend. This is your opportunity to hear and meet the candidates before the electing convention.

Opportunities for Feedback!

After the walk-abouts, YOUR voting delegates - Fr. Kim, Deacon Sheila, Phyllis Harvey, and Cam Hay - invite and encourage your feedback. On July 2nd and 9th, we will be available after church to hear from you. Please click on the following link for more information. https://dioceseofdelaware.net/bishopsearch/

Peace,

Fr. Kim
