Welcome MAMA, the new V3.0 Modular Airlift Multistrand Array (MAMA):
> quieter & easier to set up
> more elegant, but still do-able with recycled water bottles
> more plants for less electrical input (up to 32 plants to a pump)
> modular: one window can have vegetative, fruiting, AND flowering plants
The participatory web guide for V3.0 MAMA is a test release of the new planned website that captures ideas, questions, sketches, discussion, & issues for R&D-I-Y while you build. We can't wait until you use the FEEDBACK tab on the right.
The first patent is pending, thanks to the generosity of Rafe Furst. As the area of open hardware intellectual property law gets sorted out, this patent pending status secures the community's design against patent trolls but keeps the designs free & in the public domain for individuals who accept the community's open terms. more>>
Thank you for being one of the first believers in what we at Windowfarms Headquarters think is a pretty inspiring movement. From Fayetteville, Arkansas to a classroom in Saitama, Japan, window farmers are now 14,000+ strong.
Innovations that once seemed far off, like solar power, nutrients from fishtanks, systems housed in gourds & LED grow lights are being proposed & tested consistently by the community.
If you have not visited the site recently, please come join the conversation>>>
