Since September, our splendid faculty have enjoyed working with returning students, as well as a whole new group of energetic and enthusiastic first year dancers. Our third year dancers have recently finished an inspiring two week residency with Peggy Baker Dance Projects, in the spacious studios of Canada's National Ballet School.
As you read this, we are in our final preparations for our fall mainstage show,
IMPULSE 2018. Resident Choreographer Darryl Tracy has been creating a new work with the first year class; second year dancers are working with Jennifer Dallas and David Norsworthy, both of whom are commissioned to make new work; and third year dancers will perform in new pieces by Allen Kaeja and Ofilio Sinbadinho. All of the dancers are working towards the performances with tremendous dedication and eagerness.
In October, we held our final celebrations for the School’s 50th anniversary, with a wonderful gathering of graduates, faculty, and staff from across the years. In this newsletter, we feature a wrap-up of the events and participants, with a special report called “Where Are They Now?” about the four dancers in our 50th anniversary photo above.
Also in this issue, we are delighted to present answers from mini-interviews we conducted with our international students, who have joined us from Colombia, France, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, and the United States.
I hope you enjoy reading about these talented individuals, and look forward to seeing you at IMPULSE 2018.

On Saturday, October 20, we celebrated the past 50 years here at the School! To commemorate this milestone, we invited our alumni, faculty, and community for a reunion.

After 50 years, the School continues to be at the forefront of training. We have established a wonderful foundation, to build a magnificent future. Check out some photos from an alumni Graham class with Rosemary, a contemporary class with Patricia Miner, afternoon tea with Artistic Director Patricia Fraser, and our EPIC dance party!

Since 1968, the School has been training dancers who have been inspired by the depth of passion and the physical power of the body in motion and by an art form of profound human expression.
