Welcome Back Students
It is time to get your Welcome Back Students signs out of the garage, dust them off and post them outside for everyone to see!  The students are trickling back into town now to prepare for fall sports and soon will be joined by the rest for the start of classes. These signs show support to everyone connected to both universities.  Please display the signs from August 10th to September 15th.
If you did not purchase a sign last year, you are in luck as they will be sold again by the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Services.   The Welcome Back signs which have the Heidelberg and TU logos will be available for purchase at the Downtown Tiffin Farmers Market on August 12th from 9 am to 1 pm.  The cost is $20 per sign.  Any unsold signs will be available at the office.

Branding & Communications

This partnership between SIEDC, the City, the Chamber, and the County continues to progress, with Phase I (Discovery + Insights) finishing off this month. The community—and you members—have an opportunity (if you haven’t already) to participate in providing input. Please go to tiffinbranding.com to fill out this quick 7-question survey.

Ritz Theatre brings Discovery Series to Tiffin
Dianne Pytel, Education Director for The Ritz Theatre shared an idea with the Chamber office and we helped her bring it to life.  This year The Unknown Soldier written by Sandra Eldridge will be presented by the Monkey BAA Theatre Company to grades 6 – 12 as part of their Discovery Series.  Dianne thought it would be nice to somehow tie this into Tiffin’s monuments.  Brittany Cook, DSC’s Marketing Director is offering a Frost Parkway Monument Tour to the schools attending the production.

Friday, October 27
12:00 p.m.
Enhance your students’ experience by taking the Frost Parkway Monument Tour.  Within walking distance of the The Ritz are monuments to honor those who served in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and to remember those who were lost on 9/ll.
To make arrangements for your school, contact:
Brittany Cook at 567-220-6387 or by email.

Christmas & 2018 Event Information Wanted
Yes! There is that word again! Christmas: a great word that evokes many emotions.  We were already thinking about it in June:
“It is way too soon to think about Christmas! However, it is not too soon for us as a community to look at the calendar and schedule our holiday events.  We will be creating a brochure to promote Christmas and Holiday events taking place in Seneca County.  Please send us all the pertinent information by October 1, 2017.  We actually have some Holiday events already on the calendar, look for the burgundy color.”
So, why are we repeating this?  We want to promote Seneca County!  We need your help!  Please look at the events, you have held this year and what you have planned for the rest of the year. Did you plan a spring or fall open house?  Are you going to repeat the event in 2018?
Please think of what you did last year for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Did you do something special for Thanksgiving?  Did Santa make a visit to your store?  Dust it off, revise, update with 2017/2018  dates and send this information to us as soon as possible.  The deadline is October 1st for the special holiday brochure and for the 2018 Visitor Guide.
Please send your information to Deb or Brittany!
