Dear Editor,

It might not be Halloween just quite yet, but down in New Orleans, every resident likely has five good costumes ready to go at any given time. That's because celebration is at the core of the New Orleans' experience. So let's just get right to the point: Fall is a great time to visit New Orleans, and to get a true taste of the city, every visitor should join in one of these unforgettable festivals that you simply won't find anywhere else:

SOUTHERN DECADENCE: SEPTEMBER 1-4, 2017
The largest gay event in New Orleans takes over the French Quarter, bringing with it parades, contests and more.

BURGER FEST: SEPTEMBER 8-9, 2017
Brand new this year, Burger Fest will take over the New Orleans riverfront at Crescent Park, with those signed up promising to work lobster, hot sausage, crawfish, shrimp, crab and vegan options into the mix.

NEW ORLEANS BURLESQUE FESTIVAL: SEPTEMBER 14-17, 2017
Celebrate the art of the striptease that made Bourbon Street famous worldwide!

NOLA ON TAP: SEPTEMBER 23, 2017
Also known as the beer festival in New Orleans.

BEIGNET FESTIVAL: OCTOBER 7, 2017
Because, beignets.

OAK STREET PO-BOY FESTIVAL: OCTOBER 2017
One of New Orleans' most delicious and famous sandwiches deserves a fest of its own. Taste po-boys from famous restaurants and learn po-boy history and French bread-baking traditions.

VOODOO MUSIC EXPERIENCE: OCTOBER 27-29, 2017
Only the coolest take to the stage at this Halloween-themed festival in City Park, known for its blending of high-profile national artists with local Louisiana musicians.

If you are working on any New Orleans stories, we would be happy to put you in touch with someone from New Orleans CVB to discuss all the activity going on. The city continues to evolve and reinvent itself, and there’s always something new to discover. And in 2018, New Orleans will be celebrating its 300th birthday, with many exciting events and activities planned throughout the year.

So pack that favorite sequin dress, that amazing hat you never get to wear and even a wig or two and head down to the Crescent City for food, music and more!

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best,

Elizabeth Gaerlan
