Happy New Year! We had a great Christmas! Thank you for your thoughtfulness and support as you really made it a very special time for all of the boys and families here at Boys Farm.
You are truly shaping these children’s lives in such a positive way through each memorable gift, meal, or time of fellowship you have shared with us; Thank you!
After Christmas, as I was driving to Columbia with my family, we noticed the parking lot at Gold’s Gym was completely full! I think people were getting a head start on their new year’s resolutions. Do you have a new year’s resolution? I know a number of people who do, and I think it’s a good way for us to make changes or new commitments in our lives.
Some of the more common resolutions include losing weight, getting out of debt, quitting a bad habit, saving money for a big item, or learning something new. These are all good goals, and I hope people are successful in improving such areas of their lives. But how long do such inwardly-focused resolutions really last - A year, maybe months, or sometimes only weeks?
What if we made resolutions that would truly be a lasting success? What does success really look like? I believe true success is following the will of God. All we have to do is ask our father what His will is for our lives and search for it in His word. If we make that our commitment, we will naturally begin to look outward and focus on sacrificing and helping others. This year, I want to find more ways in which I can do God’s will by honoring Him and serving His children.
This year, I challenge you to make a resolution that will last for eternity; make a difference in the life of a child in need. One year can make a lifetime of change.
