EVANGELIZATION COMMITTEE

Dinner! -- 6:45 pm

7:10 pm -- Meeting begins

OPENING PRAYER: Almighty and Eternal Father, Giver of all Gifts, show us Thy mercy, and grant, we beseech Thee, through the merits of Thy faithful servant, St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, that all who invoke her intercession may obtain what they desire according to the good pleasure of thy Holy Will. St. Frances, we ask you to intercede for us in our work of evangelizing the lost and fallen away Catholics.

St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, beloved spouse of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, intercede for us that our Evangelization work may help our parish to grow according to God's will.

A. SPEAKER SERIES
 
     1. Sept. 12th--Five Languages of Love
          Presented by Chris and Ann Aguilar
     2. Thursday, October 4th--Fr. Gary Thomas: Confession

Fr. Gary will have to be moved to the following week if possible due to Fiesta setup that day and night

B. MASS VIDEO SCHEDULE
 
     1. August 25, 2018--Catholics Come Home.org
     2. October 14, 2018--On the Road to Emmaus

Videos are set to go on these dates
    
C. MOVIE NIGHT/DINNER
    
      1. Next Movie night will be Sept. 1, 2018 at 6 pm-- “Paul, Apostle of Christ” --                         Dinner -- BBQ Chicken-- $8.00--Family of 4--$30.00
      2. 13 years of age and older, please
      3. Last day to buy tickets is Thursday, Aug. 30th. No tickets at the door
          No Exceptions!

Pre-sale tickets are going very well. Tickets will be sold after all the Masses on Aug. 25,26. Expected turnout should be 60-90 people.

D. GREETERS UPDATE--James
  

     1. GREETERS BBQ will be Sept. 22nd - 5-9 pm--BBQ steak!
     2. Update on monitors in Vestibule (Fr. Michael and Men's Club)

Fr. Michael gave the OK to move ahead with Monitors in the vestibule as long as we have a licensed Electrician to do the work. They all have busy schedules so we have to “get in line”.

E. HEALING MASS AT ST. FRANCES CABRINI
      UPDATE ON DATES FOR MASS -- All during the 8:30 am Mass
       Aug 11
       Nov 10
       Feb 9

Attendance has been above average for this Mass on the first two Saturdays that we have administered this Sacrament.

F. NEW DEVOTION TO ST. JOSEPH
    1. Wednesday, Sept. 5 @ 7pm in Church

We expected 10-12 to show up but we had just over 40!

G. MINISTRY FAIR--SEPT. 9, 2018

    1. Update on Ministry Fair
    2. After all morning Masses ONLY
    3. Set up time: 6:30 am on Sunday morning; Shut down at 1:15 pm

Flyers have gone out to all Ministry Leaders informing them of details of the Fair--what they have to bring and what we will provide. A few things will change from last year--No tickets for those who just go by a booth--they have to sign up for a Ministry and they get a ticket to drop in a basket on a central table with all gifts. Each table will have a food item to entice parishioners to stop by that booth. Banners will go up on Monday, 8/20 at each gate in the parking lot. Flyers will be in the bulletin.

H. DISCERNING CATHOLICS

      a. Next scheduled class “pre-RCIA” Class on Sept 13th @ 7pm

      b. We NEED TO BUILD ATTENDANCE--Ideas below

          1. Pick 10-15 people in parish whose job it is to send 1 person/month to the Class--free book for every name submitted
          2. Beef up the ads on Web site and Facebook
          3. PSA Announcements on Relevant Radio
          4. Posters in SFC School
          5. Repetitive and larger ads in weekly Church Bulletin
          6. Banners on link fence for parents to see as they drive out
          7. Place intention in Prayers of the Faithful
              “That our Parish may increase the numbers of those inquiring about the Catholic Faith.”
          8. Have an extra special prize for those who sign up for class
          9. School should put notice in the Wednesday electronic bulletin
        10. Offer free Matthew Kelly book for those who sign up online
        11. Greeters should ask Mass attendees if they have family members
               out of the Church--get name and phone
        12. Solicit by email all on email list & get name and email so they can be invited to class
        13. More Ideas please!! WE NEED TO GET ATTENDANCE TO 15-20/MO.

We need all committee members to take part in promoting this class each month. Heidi will coordinate members to take items above and run with them. We must build up this attendance in order to build RCIA classes!

I. FAMILY ROSARY FOR MONTH OF OCTOBER
         1. Sunday thru Friday at 6:30 pm; Saturday at 8:00 am followed by Mass
           2. Charlotte will organize families to lead Rosary

Signup sheets are being distributed for families to sign up to lead Rosary each night during the Month of October. Charlotte will coordinate this list.


J. ADVERTISING ACTIVITIES OUTSIDE OF OUR PARISH

      1. Rebuilt book says, “Don't do it!” Promote Parish Activities
           a. This weeks bulletin has 2 outside activities that looks like SFC is promoting
               these activities as things we should support and attend
               1. MARTHA'S KITCHEN--Save the Date! Annual Benefit . . . Cost is $175
               2. WOMENT'S RETREAT in Santa Cruz . . .Cost is $75... Have these outside activities been approved by Fr. Michael?
               3. WINE TASTING at Joseph George on Meridian Ave--What does it have
                    to do with our Fiesta? Not clear

We must focus our Bulletin on Activities in this parish in order to promote community building within our parish. Our activites must have a larger presence in the bulletin to attract attention.

September, October meetings will be at the Hearts of Love Bookstore.
