Eurofins US Microbiology Division Achieves ISO 17025 Accreditation
We are proud to announce that two Eurofins US laboratories, the Eurofins Nutrition Analysis Center (Des Moines, IA) and Eurofins Strasburger & Siegel (Hanover, MD) received their ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Accreditation for Microbiology by A2LA. This achievement is in addition to ISO accreditations for chemistry in multiple Eurofins US laboratories.
The ISO accreditation provides a solid platform for the Eurofins US Food Testing Division to expand our microbiology services. Having ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation is highly regarded both nationally and internationally as a reliable indicator of competence. The ISO scope was based on tests and calculations considered most common for our clients’ testing needs. Achieving this initial accreditation for our microbiology operations is only the beginning for the Eurofins US Microbiology division; our plans are to add more tests to our accredited scope throughout the coming year. Vice President of US Food Division, Marc Scantlin said “The U.S. Food Microbiology departments worked very hard to achieve the ISO 17025 accreditation. Our technicians, lab managers, and senior leaders were all very involved in the ISO process. We are pleased to provide a higher level of service to our clients by having both our chemistry and microbiology ISO 17025 accreditations within our U.S. laboratories.” Chief Scientific Officer for Microbiology, Dr. Douglas Marshall, said “Microbiological testing is a growing component of the US food testing market and Eurofins’ continual investment in quality is reflective of our goal to be the leading and the most trusted service provider in this market.” Eurofins is a worldwide leader in its field, with laboratories in more than 150 locations in 30 countries. Eurofins offers a portfolio of over 40,000 reliable analytical methods for characterizing the safety, identity, purity, composition, authenticity and origin of products and biological substances. Eurofins is committed to providing the highest quality services, accurate results in time and, if requested, expert advice by highly qualified staff. The reliability and accuracy of its data help customers make appropriate decisions on risks and meet their increasingly stringent quality and safety standards and the demands of regulatory authorities around the world. Few testing laboratories can match the level of expertise, technological leadership, attention to quality and customer service that have made Eurofins the global leader in many of the fields where it is active. Large investments in innovation, technology, IT and logistics and very large sample volumes ensure that customers enjoy high standards of quality at reasonable prices.
