Exceptional Women Honored
|

Congratulations are due to 40 publishing and media professionals, including some EWIP members, noted in the annual feature article in the April 2011 issue of Folio magazine.
Indiviudal honors in the "Do-er" category were awarded to Kate Byrne, an EWIP board member and Vice President, Technology Group, at Future US, and Heather Holmes, SVP Audience Development, Technology Review. Appearing in the "Under the Radar" category was Colleen Holland, Associate Publisher, VegNews. Interviews and the full list of this year's honorees can be read here. Well done, ladies!
JOINT LUNCHEON ON JUNE 9 IN SAN FRANCISCO
You can hear two of the Bay Area "Folio 40" honorees, and network with your colleagues at a luncheon in San Francisco on Thursday, June 9th. EWIP and the Western Fulfillment Management Association are extremely happy that Kate Byrne of Future US and Colleen Holland of VegNews, will be on hand to share some of their recent accomplishments (and maybe a joke or two).
The EWIP/WFMA luncheon is open to anyone! Plan to join us on Thursday, June 9, at noon to 2 pm in San Francisco. For venue and other information call Meg Clark at 415-661-2966 or look for event details on EWIP's website.

Expanded Focus on Women in Digital Media
Exceptional Women in Publishing recently formed a new committee, EWIP’s Women in Digital Media to expand the opportunities for women in digital media companies. It has been noticed by more than a few women's groups that women, despite making up a greater proportion of the overall users of digital media, are not adequately represented in most Web 2.0 and media technology companies. Promoting women who are "board ready" and ending the drought on the board of directors is an important effort. EWIP’s mission is to provide support to women, in and through the power of publishing. We welcome women in digital media, an ever-growing facet of the evolving media space to contact Linda Ruth for more information and join others at the LinkedIn group.
Great Ideas in Social Media
EWIP’s Women in Digital Media will celebrate “Great Ideas in Social Media”, at a luncheon this summer in New York City. If you have a great idea, please share it here for the chance to receive the recognition you, your company, or your client deserve. Join in on the discussions on our Linkedin Women in Digital Media group here.
