WHAT IS A COMPLETE STREET
"Complete Streets are streets for everyone. They are designed and operated to enable safe access for all users. Pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and transit riders of all ages and abilities must be able to safely move along and across a complete street. Complete Streets make it easy to cross the street, walk to shops, and bicycle to work. They allow buses to run on time and make it safe for people to walk to and from train stations."

COMPLETE STREETS RESOLUTION PASSES
Our city has passed a resolution to pursue a Complete Streets Policy.
Jason Tudor, from Bike Easy partner AARP, and Dan Jatres, Bike Easy board president, presented to the New Orleans City Council Transportation Committee (video)
The full Council voted on this resolution (video) and it passed 6-0 today at City Hall. The resolution directs the council to develop a Complete Streets Ordinance.
BIKE EASY'S NEXT STEPS Help develop and pass an ordinance that directs the City to design streets and redevelop our city with Complete Streets in mind.
This will involve many strategies, including outreach to local officials, grassroots advocacy and partnering in existing relationships with elected officials.
HOW YOU CAN HELP We will be ramping up efforts to educate local officials and bureaucrats that this policy is good for jobs, quality of life and simple living. We need resources to do these advocacy tasks.
Your membership strengthens our political voice, is our most important source of financial support, and helps us create a quality complete streets policy.
