Mr. March - Charlie Dismore

Current Career?  Professional speaker providing keynotes and Charlie in Vietnamseminars to corporate America and the commercial real estate industry.

Past jobs?   Career U.S. Marine.  Served at duty stations all over the world with assignments including command, logistics, engineering, and a year of combat in Vietnam.  Executive roles in management and brokerage with Trammell Crow, Lincoln Property Company, and CB Richard Ellis/Mega.

Professional aspirations?  To meaningfully and significantly impact the growth and education of real estate practitioners at all levels.

What do you want to be when you grow up? If Bill Gaither gave me the opportunity to sing with his Gospel Quartet, I would be on the bus tomorrow.

Worst client or coworker?   I don’t have any of those.  I depend on my clients for my livelihood and my coworkers to provide the services I am incapable of performing.  So I try to be nice to them at all times!

Five minutes of fame?  Singing and acting the lead role of Emile DeBecque in the musical, South Pacific.  It’s my favorite because it is the only stage presentation I know where the old, fat guy gets the girl.

Lives with?  Wfe Sharon and always looking forward to the next visit from our 5 grandchildren.

Hobbies?   Flying, jogging and singing in theater productions.

Pet peeves?  Drivers of vehicles on your right side swinging wide left to make a right turn.  Scary.

If you could do it all over again, what would you change?
Not one thing.  The good times were great and the bad ones built character.

If money and time were no object, how would you spend your day?   I would still be on the platform or in the lecture hall.  I am addicted to watching light bulbs go off over folks’ heads.

CREW Network provides value for all CRE professionals at every career level

Delegates discuss organization’s priorities for 2011

Denise Kahler, Marketing and Communications Director

CREW Network

During the CREW Network delegates’ first Leadership Summit & Council Meeting of 2011, recently held in New Orleans, President Collete English Dixon emphasized the unique value of the CREW Network community and outlined the organization’s four priorities for the year.

President Dixon described how CREW Network fulfills its mission, to influence the success of the commercial real estate industry by advancing the achievements of women, through several channels including its Leadership Development Series sponsored by Studley, its industry research initiative underwritten by CB Richard Ellis, and its newest program launching this year to help members advance to the C-suite level. Through these and many other programs, CREW Network is committed to serving all commercial real estate professionals at every level of their careers.

Dixon believes that CREW Network is one of the most important organizations in the industry because of the valuable knowledge, connections and support it provides its members.  She emphasized to delegates that everyone benefits by making the industry as strong as it can be. To that end, CREW Network is committed to ensuring that all members have the skills and support needed to move themselves and the industry through these critical times and beyond.

CREW Network Priorities
Delegates learned about CREW Network’s four areas of focus for 2011 as set by its board of directors. These priorities will guide all CREW Network activities and programs throughout the year.

  • Influence and Empowerment of Members
  • Value and benefit of membership
  • Industry Leadership
  • Knowledge Source

CREW Careers Update

crewcareersLOGOsm

The 5th annual 2011 CREW Careers is rapidly approaching and the Committees planning efforts are well underway.  This year’s event should provide an excellent educational experience and fun filled afternoon for the young ladies and future leaders of the Commercial Real Estate industry.  The 2011 Committee Chairs are Carol Cates of Danly Properties and Shelly Rosales of Rosales Partners Real Estate Development (RED).

As many of you may recall, our CREW Careers program has been a tremendous success, and this year will be no exception.  Carol and Shelly have capitalized on this success and expanded to a new theme this year “Developing Austin”.   CREW Careers will be held at the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders on Friday, May 13th from 12:00 to 4:30 pm.  This year the program will open the commercial real estate doors to 95 ninth (9th) grade girls who will be introduced to the Market District at Mueller, a redevelopment of the Mueller Airport site!

We need your help…..
Donations needed - Each of the 95 students will receive a “goodie bag” filled with items that students can relate too or have fun with.  Last year promo items with company logo were donated and chic girly items such as lip stick and nail polish were purchased.  If you can donate “goodie bags” items, please contact Taylor Terkel  or Kristi Stotts.  Donations are requested by April 15th.

This is a communication of the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW Austin). In this issue you will learn about CREW Austin activities. Our members are encouraged to submit information to our administrator for the next publication.
