Dear Christian,
In support of the ongoing Feasibility Study by the Boston Metropolitan Planning Office (MPO), BCRT is conducting a traffic count at all road crossings of the proposed trail. The traffic count will happen on Saturday, August 13, from 10am to 11am. We will be manning 2 teams in Medfield for the Harding Street and the Farm Street crossings. If there is extra capacity, I would like to put someone on Icehouse Road as well. The goal for each person/team is to provide a total count for each of 3 categories (vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists) in both directions. In other words, the result will be 3 numbers for each crossing. This can be done on paper, but if you happen to have a smart phone, search the App Store/Market for "tally count". There will be multiple free tools showing up that can simplify this process greatly. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Christian Donner

BCRT volunteers/board member needed...
The Bay Colony Rail Trail needs to fill the following positions:
* Fundraising committee members -- working with a board liaison, members of this committee will help to research grant opportunities and seek out other types of funding for BCRT.
* Community liaisons -- BCRT needs a group of dedicated citizens in each of the communities it serves (Medfield, Dover, Needham and Newton) to keep residents and public officials informed about BCRT's plans.
