BUTTONS GOES TO THE LIBRARY

Earlier in August, Buttons made her Horse Powered Learning debut at the Whiteford Branch of the Harford County Public Library! Over 50 children and adults practiced their reading and math skills in addition to learning about horses and their care in two sessions. Buttons even provided "organic matter" to study!

Thank you to the Whiteford Branch staff for having CTR and Buttons visit this summer! We look forward to additional Horse Powered Learning sessions at the Harford County Public Library.

CELEBRATING OUR INTERNS!

CTR was so fortunate to have two interns from Stevenson University this summer. Meagan Greene and Sarah Tweedle became invaluable to our staff, herd, and clients in pursuing their internship goals. They had participated in all of the programming we do at CTR, from therapeutic riding, hippotherapy, equine assisted learning, and Horse Powered Learning. Both Meagan and Sarah are entering their senior year at Stevenson University as Psychology majors.

CTR is able to provide a unique hands on direct learning experience for interns from local colleges. Meagan and Sarah enjoyed their time at CTR so much that they will return and volunteer on a regular basis after school starts!

THE HARFORD CENTER ENJOYS A SUMMERTIME VISIT TO CTR!

Over 30 clients and staff from the Harford Center visited CTR in August for an  Equine Experience.

Everyone got to visit with the herd and and learn about each horse. Of course, Buttons, Captain, Foxy, Sally, Tilly, and Victor enjoyed the extra attention and TLC! They were brushed, walked, "painted", and bathed!

We look forward to groups visiting the farm for Horse Powered Learning through our up close and personal Equine Experiences.

CTR is proud to provide services for people who would otherwise not have access to horses.
It is why we do, what we do!
